Navratri Mata Ghatasthapana Puja Vidhi In 2020

 

Ghata Sthapana is the main ritual on the first day of Navaratri. It marks the beginning of the festivity for nine days. Ghata Sthapana is done to invoke Goddess Shakti and the ritual is prohibited during Amavasya and night time and any time beyond 16 ghatis after sunrise. The best time for Ghata Sthapana is the first one third of the day while pratipradhar is prevailing. Items required for Navaratri Puja. Photo or idol of Goddess Durga. Mother worship

A clay pot to sow Barley seeds Soil to pour in clay pot or cowdung Barley seeds Water to sprinkle on soil Kalash or ghat made of clay with a lid Coconut Red cloth to wrap coconut and chowki Five leaves of Mango tree or Ashoka tree to put in kalash Flower Garland Coins Chowki or an altar to put idol or photo of Goddess Durga Sacred thread or Raksha Sutra Akshatha Items required for Panchopachar Itra Flower Garland Dhoop Deepak or lamp made of clay Naivedhya Roli for tilak Puja thali Bell How to perform Navaratri Puja Arrange the items of Panchopachar in puja thali.

 

All the items required for Ghata Sthapana should be kept at the place of worship. All the items required for Chowki Sthapana should be ready at the place of worship Ghata Sthapana or Kalash Sthapana. A Chowki is placed on which the Durga idol or photo has to be kept. A clay pot is placed next to the chowki Layers of soil and Barley seeds are placed inside the pot and water is sprinkled on it Some devotees also prefer to sow the Barley seeds in cowdung instead of clay or soil Itra and coins are also put inside the ghat Five leaves of Mango or Ashoka tree are placed on the mouth of ghat. The lid is filled with raw rice and is used to cover its mouth Now take the coconut wrap it in the red cloth and tie a Raksha Sutra around it Place the coconut on the lid of the ghat Now the Ghata Sthapana is complete. 

Second step of puja vidhi

The second step is to invoke and worship the Gods and Goddesses inside the ghat Worshipping the Ghat with  Panchopchara is important Itra, flower, dhoop, deepak and naivedhya are offered to the deities inside the ghat But instead of putting all these offerings inside the kalash they are placed next to it. The third step is to instal the idol and invoke the powers of Goddess Durga A red cloth is to be placed on the chowki. Now the idol or photo of the Goddess is kept on the chowki next to the ghat.
